About these stories

30 Harry Potter Facts Even Potterheads Don’t Know is a set of unofficial fan stories in seven short chapters, told the way you would watch stories on your phone. The first chapter is the names that were hinting at something all along, from Voldemort’s French roots to the bumblebee hiding in Dumbledore. The second is nine clues you only notice on a reread, small details in early books that pay off books later. Then come the story behind the books, the real places that played Hogwarts on screen, and what to know before HBO’s series arrives on Christmas Day 2026. The finale is your ranking, your questions and a recap card to keep.

How it works

Each chapter is its own page. Tap the right side of the screen for the next slide and the left side to go back, hold to pause, and use the button at the end of a chapter, a sideways swipe or the circles on the cover to move between chapters. Some slides ask you something: guess a fact, scratch a card, open an envelope, find a detail in a picture or vote on a hot take. A round takes about seven minutes.

Where the AI comes in

Three parts are written live by AI and labelled as AI: the short read of your answers, the Restricted Section’s replies and the what-if scene. The AI is given the checked facts and told not to invent facts, quotes, dates or numbers. It can still make mistakes. If it is busy or offline, a hand-written text appears instead and says so.

What is checked

Every fact was checked on 14 October 2026 against pages we opened: the Wikipedia articles Harry Potter (TV series), Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter (character), Lord Voldemort, Albus Dumbledore, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, Hogwarts, Magical objects in Harry Potter, Alnwick Castle, Glenfinnan Viaduct; the official Harry Potter website’s feature Sentences from the Harry Potter books that ended up being rather important; and the Harry Potter Lexicon’s entry on the Room of Requirement. Claims we could not confirm on a page we opened were left out. The pictures are open-licence photos from Wikimedia Commons, credited on each slide and below, and our own drawings; no film stills, official art or logos are used.
