Stars & Spells
← Back to the siteContinuity Check is a small game about the job that keeps films believable. On a real film set, a script supervisor watches every take and notes where each prop, costume and candle was, so that scenes shot hours or weeks apart still match when they are cut together. When something slips through, viewers spot it: a modern object in a historical scene, a sky that changes between two windows, a sign that nobody proofread. Collecting those slips is a hobby for many fans, and it is the idea behind this page.
You are the script supervisor on an imaginary fantasy and science fiction film. There are three sets: an alchemist's study, the bridge of a starship and a market under a dragon's roost. Each set hides five deliberate mistakes. Tap or click where you see one before the timer runs out. A correct find is circled and comes with a short studio note; a wrong tap costs a few points; a hint shows you roughly where to look and also costs points. When you finish, you see every error you found and every one you missed.
At the end you can ask the film's fictional director for an excuse memo about the mistakes that made it into the final cut. That memo is written live by AI, is labelled as AI, and is pure comedy: it is not a statement about any real film or person. If the AI service is busy, the page shows a hand-written memo instead and says so.
Every scene on this page is drawn from scratch in simple shapes for this site. The film, its sets and its director are invented. Nothing here uses characters, logos, stills or artwork from any real film, book or series, and Stars & Spells is not affiliated with any studio or publisher. If you want to read about real productions, our articles cover them with sources.
Your best score is saved only in your own browser, so you can try to beat it later. Clearing your browser data for this site removes it. Nothing you tap is sent anywhere, except the short list of found and missed errors that goes to the AI when you ask for the director's memo.
